There wasn’t really any competition though. This is two friends dancing around their bedroom together. This is two drag queens facing their friend leaving the competition. This is standing in the corner of a club, all too often, watching the guy you fancy on someone else. This is a simple desolate electro bassline with great verses over it. This is the best build-up to a last chorus that exists. This is Dancing on My Own by Robyn and it is the most relevant, greatest fucking song that ever happened
What motivates you? What motivates each of us to continue waking up everyday, to breath, to live? Do you ever suddenly stop what you are doing and realise you have no reason to keep doing it? It is not fair how some search for happiness their entire lives while others bump into it so frequently. And you shall not say that some are not happy because they ignore what’s beautiful, because I can garantee we do, we want to be happy - the thing is, we know what should make us feel better, but as we tend to rationalize it more and more, we realise there is no reason to enjoy it.
So it is the other way around. The ones that see the beauty in life need no reason to walk further, because they do not doubt their way - they are the ignorant ones, but why can I not be one?
